Certification services

Each service produces its own numbered report. Services can be combined on a single submission and issued as one certificate.

Watches

W-01

Authentication

Reference, serial and caliber verification against factory records and known production ranges. Determination of authentic, authentic with non-original components, inconclusive, or not authentic.

W-02

Originality report

Component-by-component assessment: dial, hands, bezel, crystal, crown, case back, bracelet, clasp. Refinishing, over-polishing and replacement parts identified and listed.

W-03

Condition grading

Graded on the NYAA six-point scale with case, dial, movement and bracelet scored separately, plus timing results over five positions.

W-04

Insurance appraisal

Replacement value for a scheduled-property policy, based on current retail or secondary-market replacement, with the market level identified.

W-05

Estate & fair market

Fair market value for estate, gift, donation or division purposes, supported by dated comparable sales.

W-06

Re-certification

Re-examination of a previously certified watch after service, sale or a lapse of five years. Prior report number is carried forward.

Jewelry & gemstones

J-01

Diamond origin determination

Natural or laboratory-grown, with growth method stated where determinable (HPHT or CVD). Screening and confirmation instrument named in the report.

J-02

Loose stone grading

Carat, colour, clarity and cut on the standard scales, with proportions, fluorescence, and a plotted clarity diagram.

J-03

Mounted stone estimation

Estimated grades and measured or calculated weight for stones that cannot be removed, clearly labelled as estimates.

J-04

Treatment disclosure

Detection and disclosure of clarity enhancement, irradiation, heat, fracture filling, coating and diffusion.

J-05

Metal & hallmark

Non-destructive fineness testing, hallmark and maker's mark reading, and gross versus net metal weight.

J-06

Insurance & estate appraisal

Replacement or fair market value for the finished piece, itemised by component where the piece is a suite or a multi-stone mount.

A certificate states findings as of the examination date. It is not a guarantee of future value, a warranty of the item, and it does not substitute for the manufacturer's own papers.
